Cookies

Cookies, and what they’re for.

What speakos.app measures, with cookies and without, who sets each cookie, why, and how long it lasts.

Last updated October 22, 2026

Your choice

In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, we ask on your first visit. Accept all allows analytics and marketing cookies, Reject non-essential allows neither, and Cookie settings lets you choose each.

Everywhere else, analytics and marketing are on from the start, and you can turn either off. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, marketing starts off.

Change your mind any time with Cookie settings, at the foot of every page. . Turning a category off stops its cookies at once and deletes them on speakos.app; it doesn’t undo what was measured before. We keep your choice for six months, then ask again where we ask.

Without your OK

Where you haven’t allowed analytics, we still count visits, without cookies or anything kept on your device:

  • Google Analytics receives a page’s address, when it was visited and the kind of browser and device, with no id that follows you, and estimates the visits it can’t see from these.
  • Microsoft Clarity records how each page is used, its clicks and scrolling, under a new id every page, so visits aren’t joined up.

Nothing from Meta loads without your OK to marketing.

Essential

  • consent, set by speakos.app, in your browser’s storage: remembers the choice you made here. Kept six months.
  • consent-region, set by speakos.app, in your browser’s storage: remembers whether your country asks first, from where you’re visiting. Kept until you close the tab.

That is all speakos.app keeps for itself.

Buying Pro takes you to Dodo Payments’ checkout, on its own site, which sets the cookies it needs to take a payment. Its own cookie policy covers them.

Analytics

They show which pages people read and how they find their way, so we can make the site better.

  • _ga, set by Google Analytics: tells one visitor from another. Kept 13 months.
  • _ga_XGB4T9TPTB, set by Google Analytics: keeps track of a visit. Kept 13 months.
  • _clck, set by Microsoft Clarity: tells one visitor from another. Kept 1 year.
  • _clsk, set by Microsoft Clarity: joins the pages of one visit. Kept 1 day.
  • MUID, set by Microsoft Clarity, on Microsoft’s own domain: tells one visitor from another across sites that use Clarity. Kept 1 year.

What you type in our forms is hidden from Clarity’s recordings.

Marketing

They tell us which ads brought people here and who they are in general terms, so we spend on the ads that help. With them on, Google Analytics also uses Google signals: age range and interests from Google accounts, in totals only.

  • _fbp, set by the Meta Pixel: tells one visitor from another. Kept 90 days.
  • _fbc, set by the Meta Pixel: remembers the ad you came from, when you came from one. Kept 90 days.
  • _gcl_au, set by Google: remembers the Google ad you came from, when you came from one. Kept 90 days.

Google and Meta may also read their own cookies, on their own domains, under their own policies.
