SpeakOS

SpeakOS for Mac

One shortcut. Every app.

Hold Option-Shift-Space anywhere on your Mac and speak. Let go, and your words are typed where your cursor is. The rest of SpeakOS lives in a window: your memory, your meetings, and a chat that answers from what you said.

“fine by me, let’s move the review to next week so Sam can join. I’ll send the revised plan by Thursday”

Two shortcuts

Hold the keys and talk. Let go, it’s typed.

In Slack, Mail, your editor or a chat with an AI. Hold the keys while you talk, or tap them once and again for something long. The words land where your cursor is.

  • OptionShiftD

Type your words. Typed as you said them.

  • OptionShiftSpace

Speak a prompt. Shaped into a prompt for an AI, with every name, number and “not” kept.

Your memory, in a window

Everything the iPhone has. On a bigger page.

Speak, Memory, Meetings and To do in a sidebar, synced with your iPhone. The morning starts with what matters now: the next meeting in your calendar, what’s due today, what you said lately.

Chat

Ask, then ask again.

“And about pricing?” follows on from the question before. Every answer comes from what you said, numbered to its notes. The chat stays on this Mac and is never saved as a note: it isn’t what you said.

What it does

Small on the surface. Careful underneath.

  • Hold, or tap

Hold the shortcut while you speak, or tap it once to start and again to stop for something long.

  • Your words, or a prompt

Option-Shift-D types what you said. Option-Shift-Space writes it up as a clear prompt first.

  • A pill, not a window

While anything listens, a small pill sits at the top of the screen. It never takes focus from what you’re typing.

  • Chat with your memory

Ask, then follow on: “and what did she say about pricing?” Every answer shows its sources, and the chat is never saved as a note.

  • Meetings from the menu bar

Start one with Option-Shift-M. Its notes are on your iPhone too.

  • One reminder, one ring

A reminder set on the Mac rings on the Mac, not on both.

It types the way you would.

SpeakOS pastes your words for you, so it needs Accessibility permission, and it puts back whatever you had copied.
